Early in the Spring of 2004, Colin and Jenn began corresponding by email after they were matched on eHarmony.com.  The match was made based on their faith and commitment to Jesus Christ, their moral values, and similar interests.  Over time, they exchanged pictures and stories from their past and discovered that they were born in the same birthing room at Hunterdon Medical Center, in the same year and with the same obstetrician.  They also discovered that Jenn’s younger sister Erin had been at Philadelphia Biblical University while Colin’s younger brother Paul Burton was there, and Erin had actually been in the Campbell home when the PBU Chorale came through Roanoke.  After many hours of email communications and telephone conversations, Colin and Jenn decided they should meet face-to-face.  Colin spent the weekend with Jenn and her parents Bruce and Hollie at the end of April, and Jenn spent the weekend with Colin and his parents Paul and Dawn at the end of May.  Having observed the depth of their friendship and the solidity of its foundation, we their parents have given our blessing to this courtship.  Paul and Dawn have been praying for Colin and his future wife almost since the day he was born, and Bruce and Hollie have likewise been praying for Jenn and her future husband.  In a recent four-way telephone conversation, we as parents marveled at God’s abundant grace that He would bring the two of them together.

As their courtship continues, they will need to make decisions about their future.  Please pray for them as they continue to grow in their love for each other and try to balance the responsibilities of everyday life.  Colin is currently a Project Engineer and Youth Director of his church, and Jenn is a Physician Assistant specializing in geriatric care.  We want to acknowledge the patience that both Colin and Jenn have exhibited in waiting for each other, and the good sense they have had to guard their hearts and not give them away carelessly.  We love them, we admire them, and we thank God for the joy we have had in raising them.
